Download PDFThe NEX601 ( 48x48 ) PID Temperature Controller from Radix is a cost effective model with easy-to-read, large customized display and compact size. This PID temperature controller is used in applications such as food processing machines, plastic extruders and moulding machines, packaging machines, ovens, small furnaces . It can also be used for humidity, pressure and flow rate control. Its precise temperature control provides a reliable solution at an affordable price.
NEX601 accepts seven types of thermocouples :J, K, N, R, S, T, B, E , Pt100 RTD input ,Analog inputs : 0~20mA,4~20mA,0~10V. All these inputs are user settable through keys except for voltage input. A DIP switch is provided to select voltage input. This DIP switch is accessible to the user through a slot in the enclosure Thus, if a user needs to change the input type from thermocouple J to Pt100 RTD, he can easily do so through the keys. Likewise if he wants to select voltage input 0~10V , he just has to select the input type through keys and set the DIP switch. This feature allows dealers as well as end-users to use one product instead of multiple instruments for different inputs. NEX601 has a high input accuracy - Thermocouple : ± 0.25% of span ±1 °C, RTD Pt100 : ± 0.05% of span ±1 °C and Linear inputs : ±0.25% of FS ±1 digit. It maintains high accuracy throughout the operating temperature of -10 to 50 °C. Sampling time is 200ms . The ‘Digital Filter’ parameter removes the fluctuation when the inputs have electrical noise. Many parameters such as Input Bias and Input Limits allow the instrument to adapt to any application. The linear input of 0~10V can be easily converted to some other input range such as 1 ~5V by setting input range parameters . Sensor break detection is automatic and the relay/analog output can be selected to be activated or deactivated during sensor break.
NEX601 PID Controller can be configured as an indicator or On-Off controller or a PID Controller. There is only one parameter(“mode”) to be set. If for example mode is set to indicator , then all other programming levels and parameters related to outputs are masked/hidden.This makes it work only as an indicator with all outputs disabled.Similarly if onoff mode is set the pid parameters are hidden/masked and both relay work in on/off or alarm mode.Thus the end-user can configure the product according to his application.
NEX601 has a dual-row, four-digit customized display. The upper row is a large,16.3mm (0.64”) bright red display, and the lower row is a 9mm (0.35”) bright green LED display. This makes it easily viewable from far.The dual display shows both the process value and control setpoint value in run mode .The dual display also makes it easier to configure parameters. The display is customized with all the led’s self lit .This makes the product attractive and easy to read.
NEX601 is a PID temperature controller with an advanced PID and fuzzy logic algorithm All the PID parameters can be set by the user or can be autotuned Autotuning is preferred for precise control. The procedure for autotuning is simple, fast and gives good accuracy..Alarm modes include high,low,deviation and band alarms. Latch mode for the alarm is provided and one can reset the alarm through the acknowledge key.
NEX601 PID Controller has a maximum of two relays and one analog output. PID control can be through the first relay or the analog output. This setting is user programmable . This feature allows dealers as well as end-users to use one product instead of multiple instruments for selecting the controlling device. Another advantage of this feature is that if the analog output is used for PID control , the two relays can be used for On-Off action or as alarms. Thus a total of three setpoints are available for the user , one for control and other for alarms or on-off action.This is a very unique feature of Radix instruments .
The analog output of the NEX601 PID controller is isolated. An mutual isolation of 1.5KV has been achieved between the analog output,supply,input, and relay output This makes the product work well even in harsh noisy environments without requirement of external isolators .A maximum of 500 ohm load is allowed for mA output and greater than 10K ohm load is allowed for 0~10V output.
Transmitter supply is available in NEX601 to power the external transmitters. Thus NEX601 can be used to display processes such pressure, flow or level without having to bother about supply for the transmitters.
NEX601 is compact with a depth of only 85mm behind panel. This makes it useful in tight spaces with limited depth. The enclosure is of plug in type which makes it useful for control panels. One can easily detach the instrument with the connections intact.
Also available in the mid range series of PID Temperature Controllers is NEX605 (similar to NEX601, but of size 96Wx96Hx35D mm).
