RTD sensors with thermowells are designed for processes where corrosion, pressure, abrasion or shear force may threaten the life of the element. Thermowells, machined from a solid bar stock or fabricated from a pipe, shield the RTD element from external aberrations. Fabricated thermowells offer a lower cost alternative and are used in applications where high pressure is not a consideration. The thermowells are constructed with threaded , flanged or weld stock (weld-in). Flange sizes and ratings are designed as per customer requirement. The thermowell also allow a defective instrument to be removed without shutting down the entire process. The RTD sensors measure temperatures between -50 and 250°C or -50 to 400°C. Its 3 wire Pt100 RTD element can be constructed in single or dual assembly in Class A/Class B as per the IEC 751 standard for RTD sensors. Standard threads are made in BSP and NPT(others can be constructed on request).
