Frequently Asked Questions

A Digital Panel Meter measures and displays electrical parameters such as voltage, current, frequency or VAF in electrical panels and industrial control systems.

A Digital Panel Meter measures one or a limited number of electrical parameters.

A Multifunction Meter measures multiple electrical and energy parameters in a single instrument, including power, energy, demand and communication functions.

A Digital VAF Meter simultaneously measures Voltage, Current and Frequency, making it suitable for generator panels, electrical distribution panels and industrial control panels.

Selected models support RS485 Modbus RTU communication for integration with SCADA, PLC and Building Management Systems.

The CT (Current Transformer) Ratio is used when measuring current through an external Current Transformer. It enables the meter to display the actual primary current flowing in the circuit.

Formula:

CT Ratio = CT Primary Current ÷ CT Secondary Current

Example:

  1. CT Rating: 400/5 A
  2. Primary Current = 400 A
  3. Secondary Current = 5 A

CT Ratio = 400 ÷ 5 = 80

After programming the meter with a CT Ratio of 80, a secondary current of 5 A will be displayed as 400 A.

The PT (Potential Transformer) Ratio, also known as the VT (Voltage Transformer) Ratio, is used when measuring high voltages through an external Potential/Voltage Transformer. It enables the meter to display the actual primary voltage.

Formula:

PT (VT) Ratio = PT Primary Voltage ÷ PT Secondary Voltage

Example:

  1. PT Rating: 2.3 kV / 230 V
  2. Primary Voltage = 2300 V
  3. Secondary Voltage = 230 V

PT Ratio = 2300 ÷ 230 = 10

After programming the meter with a PT Ratio of 10, a secondary voltage of 230 V will be displayed as 2.3kV (2300 V).
