Frequently Asked Questions

A Multifunction Meter measures multiple electrical parameters such as voltage, current, frequency, power, power factor and energy from a single instrument.

An Energy Meter primarily measures electrical energy consumption (kWh).

A Multifunction Meter measures energy along with voltage, current, power, frequency, power factor, demand and several other electrical parameters, providing complete Power Monitoring and Energy Monitoring.

Many electrical panels receive power from both the Mains supply and a Diesel Generator (DG).

The MLD605 and MLC645 record energy separately for each source, enabling accurate energy analysis, generator operating cost calculation and simplified energy accounting.

DG stands for Diesel Generator.

During a mains power failure, the electrical load is transferred to the generator supply. Separate DG energy recording helps monitor generator operation and energy consumption.

  1. Import Energy is the electrical energy consumed from the Mains supply.
  2. Export Energy is the electrical energy supplied back to the grid, typically from solar photovoltaic systems or captive generation.

Yes.

Both models support RS485 Modbus RTU Communication, allowing seamless integration with SCADA, PLC, BMS and Energy Management Systems (EMS).

The meters support:

  1. Single Phase
  2. Three Phase Three Wire
  3. Three Phase Four Wire
  4. Star Connection
  5. Delta Connection
